Review for ModNation Racers Road Trip PS Vita

There is no denying that Sony is taking every chance to Modnation Racers to be disclosed to the public, with deliveries in PlayStation 3, PSP and now PS Vita. It is possible that this series of carefree driving measured in hours, as has already been announced LittleBigPlanet Karting, so far only on PlayStation 3 - and by the same team, San Diego Studio, so it seems to finally be in charge of Sackboy go kart racing without forgetting the three words that became famous at Media Molecule, play, create and share. Modnation Racers also borrowed, but it seems that the success was not expected from Sony. There are two distinct parts in this series: one is an arcade racing game that features items that provide weapons or power-ups, and other circuits is a very powerful creator that lets you create not only the layout of the circuit, also decorate as you like. The contents do not save it just for you, you can upload it to any player you enjoy, and you have at your disposal million competitions, because ModNation Racers: Road Trip supports content created in PlayStation 3. Input and that means the game will never end and if you wish, you will not run twice on the same track. Moreover, the issue is not confined to the stage, also our kart and driver can be configured uniquely, which are shared equally. So far we have not discovered anything new to users and a previous Modnation on the platform to be. And because ModNation Racers: Road Trip is simply a very continuity delivery, with new circuits to the new laptop with two major changes, one positive and one negative. Starting with the bad, the game inexplicably falls on MMOs when Modnation Racers PSP even had him and that that PS Vita is very much geared to online gambling. To cover this gap, its creators have included download ghosts of players to compete against, to give objects functions Near-unlocked-and there are many online bulletin boards, but clearly the lack of time to get to launch, something confirmed by San Diego Studio, has resulted in the absence of one of the most fun parts of a driving game, competing against other users wherever they are. If there is an ad-hoc, but you already know that is not easily match with another holder of PS Vita you are playing your own game to less than 10 meters unless it is something agreed.

A function that uses the geolocation of the console provides experience points to purchase more items, customization, if you travel with the console. Simply enter a starting point and a distant, depending on the distance and get more of these points, also visit specific cities receive extras such as Madrid in Spain. Useful if you want to unlock extras, although playing normally and get all those stickers or objects without problems. However, we regret that was not enhanced features like PlayStation 3 crossover game, much like Wipeout 2048, with the home console Modnation Racers. It appears that previous complaints in recent weeks have taken effect and the developers are looking to date in future play multiplayer with the high demand, but do not wait for the departure of the console. The good news in this version: touch potential work like a charm, as sensed from your ad. To summarize this section, PlayStation 3 or PSP Cursor we controlled the line of the asphalt, planted trees or were affecting the terrain with valleys and mountains, always using the buttons and the stick of the system. It was the only way to introduce the powerful editor, and worked decently but at the expense of being somewhat cumbersome and take longer than necessary, something that has not prevented the creation of millions of tracks. PS Now Vita these actions are easier than ever, even better than with a PC mouse and much faster. With your finger instantly create any distortion in the path, cities plants, trees, and when you get to discover the characters and vehicles that put stickers is just as comfortable. The interface is still somewhat convoluted but is nearly identical to the old, so you will not notice it in yourself if you know, except that now touch-sometimes slow to react, of course. Definitely, if you are an author of many creations and you liked the previous editor Modnation Racers, worship the editor in PS Vita, which includes help and self-generation and predefined scenarios for the less hands.

As for the gameplay, Road Trip is very similar to the rest of Modnation Racers with a few improvements here and there. Walk scenarios set in areas around the world circuit with shortcuts, speed boards, items and traps occasionally as a machine that crushes the circuit and the players if they are below it in that moment, competing against seven opponents controlled by the artificial intelligence. The driver also does not have great news: shooting guns or absorbed energy, lateral lunges done, drift for improved cornering and fill out the turbo. You can launch missiles, greasy liquid rivals to slip away and impulses that your opponents close to each other tricks, a whole series of cards up his sleeve that do not always win the fastest, sometimes keeping a gun and use in the timing is the best strategy. There are a bunch of settings for the controls suitable for all types of players, no complaints in this regard: is well controlled and the ideas behind the gameplay have been proven in many successful games. It excels at any point but also fails miserably. The main mode has six championships, a total of over 30 official circuits in which besides playing to get there first secondary objectives such as "rammed three times another player" for more customization objects. There are also other collectible items scattered throughout the tour, redeemable at a game store, but if you want you can unlock all this content on PlayStation Store, purchasing it with real money. Other typical modes are free running and trial.

Road Trip is as fun as it was on PlayStation 3 and PSP rather than through the convenience of stick PS Vita, and San Diego Studio has not felt forced to introduce movement or tactile functions during the race, since once and optionally used to activate the items, for example, can also be used with the buttons. But the developer has transferred some of the problems already suffered by such version of PlayStation 3 as a flow questionable. When it runs are 30 frames per second, not too much considering the graphics, but still acceptable. But as usual, with four or five opponents on the screen and explosions, is that Modnation Racers is not an example of forward flow, to which are added two errors that disfigure the image and we expected to see in a Vita PS: a light, but this tearing-cut image, and appearance of elements on stage, not all at once generated as 32-bit platforms, but "out" from the floor. We did not expect any technical marvel as in home console also had questionable decisions, but unfortunately this version re-associate the series with a game not too polished. The much criticized game load times on PlayStation 3 here are not as exaggerated, but certainly could be improved. The graphic style is identical to its predecessors but the scenarios colorful detail, and some pilots, Mods, not very charismatic. Regarding PSP where most technical note is the jump in the quality of texture and definition, but is far from impacting other launch titles, and the errors mentioned above do not help to justify some graphics just right, typical of first batch the launch of a console. The music itself is at least fun and varied, but are missing the dialogue sequences present in PlayStation 3 and with them the dubbed voices.

Although ModNation Racers: Road Trip is a good driving game and open to all types of users such as Wipeout 2084 with which it shares some features playable-what could be the "Mario Kart" PlayStation fails to take off some problems, many of them relatively easy solution. For Road Trip, gives a good step forward with the editor and features like Near or location but another back with the absence of MMO. At the time of launch title has good options and fun solo, but limits itself significantly, although we hope will be fixed in the not too distant future. If you are missing the multiplayer for the first few weeks, you can enjoy a good racing game that has not uncover the full potential of the series but easily entertained and has the largest supply of available circuits imaginable. There will be enough gas to go all the content created by the community of Modnation Racers.
